A PLAN IS ONE THING

Why are you really in business? Over and above the desire to generate profits, what’s your deeper motivation, your vision and your purpose? This is the single most important factor in business planning – regularly reconnecting with your true ambition.

The ‘WHAT’ elements are the outcomes that you aspire to achieve as part of your journey. Write them down and review them regularly, updating them if necessary – after all, people and circumstances can change.

When you’re clear on your ‘WHY’ and ‘WHAT’, your ‘HOW’ becomes much simpler. You can add rocket fuel to your business with a clear plan and coherent objectives that cascade down through departments, supported by high quality management information and a structured (monthly) routine.

Do you know where you’re going – and how will know when you’ve got there? For example, if you’re looking for an exit to retire, when will that be and with what amount? For some business owners this is the joy of the journey – but you need to be clear that this is what you want.
